Malaysia Hosts World Tourism Day 2025 Conference in Melaka

Malaysia World Tourism Day 2025 in Melaka will spotlight “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation,” gathering global stakeholders to address inclusive tourism, digital innovation, heritage preservation, and local economic empowerment under Visit Malaysia 2026.

Malaysia World Tourism Day 2025 marks a pivotal moment for the country, as Malaysia World Tourism Day 2025 will be hosted in the historic city of Melaka from 27 to 29 September by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) in collaboration with UN Tourism. The event, with the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation,” aims to explore how tourism can accelerate sustainable development amid economic, social, and environmental challenges.

Melaka as the Host and Context

Choosing Melaka—a UNESCO World Heritage city rich in history, culture, and distinctive attractions—reflects Malaysia’s intention to highlight heritage tourism, local community participation, and cultural preservation. These dimensions are central to what Malaysia World Tourism Day 2025 seeks to promote: leveraging local culture for economic and social inclusion while maintaining environmental integrity.
