History is also in the spotlight with the exclusive exhibition “The Historical Maritime Exhibition of a World Naval Hero: Enrique de Malacca”, which highlights the story of a local who became the first Asian individual to circumnavigate the globe with Ferdinand Magellan in the 16th century.
Among the exclusive exhibits are Ferdinand Magellan’s will (1519), which lists the name Enrique as the young man from Malacca on the ship “Trinidad”, and the Maluku Fleet Register “Rol de la Armada Magellan 1519”, which recognises Enrique as Magellan’s official interpreter
