The current space of Hatten Mall at end of Kee Ann Road was the relocated Melaka Central market built in 1930s before relocated to a new place in mid 1980s. After the relocation, traffic at Jalan Kee Ann and Jalan Bunga Raya slowed.
Hatten mall management should explore the possibility of getting a new market operator. The new market must be upgraded into a fully aircond one with fresh vegetables, fruits and products eg the NSK Pasar Segar at Jalan Shelly in Kuala Lumpur.
Attractive and competitive prices will attract visitors to the market. Also, there are ample underground car parking available.
Let us work together to get back the crowd to Jalan Kee Ann like the good old days before her relocation.
