MELAKA: Frontline service personnel will need to be pleasant and friendly as the state presses on to achieve its target of 17 million tourists by end of 2017 said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron.
“We do not want to see our image as a top tourist destination smeared just because a handful of service personnel are rude.
“Negative publicity affects our tourism industry and our relentless effort to make Melaka as the number one global holiday destination,” he said after a group of businessmen and hoteliers acknowledged Idris following Melaka’s achievement in receiving international recognition from reputable tourist portals between 2013 to 2017.
