SINGAPORE, 19 August 2024: Resorts World Cruises will feature the historic port of Melaka as the gateway to Kuala Lumpur for its two-night cruises aboard Genting Dream starting 10 November 2024. 

Passengers will enjoy a new and enhanced experience with dual visits to Melaka and the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. The port stay time has been extended from 10 to 12 hours. Genting Dream will anchor close to Melaka City, offering views of the surrounding beaches and landscape. Disembarking passengers are transferred by tender boat to the Melaka River and the modern Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security Complex (ICQS). Passengers can embark on Mondays every fortnight from Melaka via the ICQS Complex. They can combine a Melaka vacation with the one-way, three-night Melaka-Singapore-Penang-Kuala Lumpur (via Port Klang) Cruise.

Resorts World Cruises has chosen Melaka as its new destination through its cruise ship Genting Dream. With an average of 200,000 passengers per year, this will increase tourist numbers during Visit Melaka 2024, thus boosting the destination’s economic growth.

Scoot to fly five-times weekly to Melaka from Oct 23

Singapore Airlines’ low-cost carrier, Scoot, will fly five times weekly to Melaka beginning October 23 and twice weekly to Kertajati, Indonesia, from September 28.

SINGAPORE: Singapore Airlines' low-cost carrier, Scoot, will fly five times weekly to Melaka beginning October 23 and twice weekly to Kertajati, Indonesia, from September 28.

In a statement today, the airline stated that the new route will expand its network to 72 destinations, and will coincide with the arrival of Scoot's third and fourth Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, named "Jalan-Jalan" and "Travel Kaki" in September and October, respectively.

"Flights to Kertajati and Melaka will be available for booking from today, via Scoot's website, mobile app, and progressively through other channels, with all-in economy class fares starting from S$92 (S$1=RM3.37) to Kertajati and S$69 to Melaka, inclusive of taxes," it said.Flight

schedules are subject to government and regulatory approvals or changes.

Scoot will also be deploying the E190-E2s on some existing services, which will increase flight frequencies to Pekanbaru, Balikpapan and Makassar (Indonesia), Davao (the Philippines), and Vientiane (Laos).

Dusit Princess, Melaka , a 5 star Thai hotel operator is opening in September 2024 in the old Ramada Hotel located at Jalan Pengkalan Rama, 75100 Melaka.

We can expect Thai hospitality and Thai cuisine at this Thai Dusit Princess,  Melaka hotel. 

Tourism Melaka welcome visitors to visit MELAKA and stay in this 5 star hotel.

Hopefully,  the former 5 star Hotel  Equatorial at Bandar Hilir will be sold or operated by new hotel operator as well.

WeChat in China Detects Millions of Searches for ‘Melaka’ Following Fan Bingbing’s Visit to the State!

Recently, Chinese actress Fan Bingbing made headlines during her visit to Melaka, where she was appointed as the Tourism Ambassador. Her presence sparked a flurry of excitement among netizens when she was caught dancing in a traditional baju kebaya attire while enjoying durian.

Fan Bingbing‘s PR Manager, Jersey Chong, took the initiative to share the latest statistics on China’s WeChat searchers following Fan Bingbing’s recent visit to Melaka.98

Melaka had 326 million searches on WeChat!

According to Jersey’s post, she shared statistics from WeChat for the 2 days following Fan Bingbing’s appointment as ambassador. On June 14th, “Fan Bingbing” garnered 334,883,965 searches, and “Melaka” followed with 165,082,653.

On June 15th, the numbers showed “Fan Bingbing” with 461,138,243 searches and “Melaka” with 161,972,679 searches on China’s WeChat.

“During the same period, searches for ‘Shanghai International Film Festival’ had 2,280,795 on WeChat, while the ‘Weibo Movie Awards Ceremony 2024’ garnered 3,472,115,” Jersey explained.

“Bravo, Fan Bingbing and Tourism Melaka!”

However, on June 14, searches for “Fan Bingbing” shot up by 331.65% and “Melaka” had an impressive increase of 14,838.04% searches on WeChat.

Fan Bingbing becoming the Tourism Ambassador has really made a massive impact on the tourism world. Her appointment has created a huge buzz, grabbing a ton of attention from her fans and followers.

This kind of exposure is priceless because it not only puts Melaka on the map but also shows off its cultural and tourist spots to a way bigger audience.
