GENTING DREAM CRUISE TO MELAKA
Fan Bingbing celebrates the launch of Genting Dream’s inaugural Melaka trip
Resorts World Cruises (RWC) welcomed international celebrity, Fan Bingbing, on board Genting Dream as it launched the ship’s maiden two-night cruise to Melaka from Singapore.
Fan, who is also the Visit Melaka 2024 Ambassador, also hold a special media press conference and a meet-and-greet session with the fans and passengers cruising to Melaka for the inaugural sailing.
At the launch ceremony, RWC president, Michael Goh and the crew of the Genting Dream welcomed Fan on the ship, together with Melaka chief minister, Seri Utama Ab Rauf bin Yusoh and representatives from the Singapore Tourism Board for this special event.
In addition, Fan shared some of her fond memories of visiting Melaka and its various attractions and local delicacies.
“We are delighted to have Fan Bingbing with us on the Genting Dream in Singapore to flag off our first cruise to Melaka that departs weekly on Sundays. Her presence today creates another exciting and memorable experience for our cruising passengers today, as they not only get to meet an international superstar, but also personally hear her experiences visiting Melaka as an ambassador of the city,” said Goh.

The Melaka International Cruise Terminal is now about 50% completed and is expected to be ready by mid 2026.
New cruise terminal will boost Melaka’s economy, says Loke
The transport minister says it will increase tourism activities and will significantly benefit the state’s economy.
He said the project is in line with the federal government’s focus on the maritime economy’s essential role in national development.
“Cruise tourism holds immense potential, especially as we (the government) are actively promoting this sector. We have major cruise ports, including Port Klang and Penang.
“We anticipate that the completion of this terminal (in Melaka) will significantly benefit the state’s economy and stimulate regional development,” Loke said following the launch of the Melaka International Maritime Economy Conference 2024 (Mimec 2024), which was officiated by chief minister Ab Rauf Yusoh here today.
4 November - Terminal Kapal Persiaran Antarabangsa Melaka dijangka akan mula beroperasi selewat-lewatnya pada Jun tahun 2026, kata Ketua Menteri, Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh.
Jelasnya, pembinaan terminal yang menelan kos RM682 juta itu sudah mencapai hingga 50 peratus.
“Mengikut terma kontrak yang kita telah berikan ia mesti disiapkan pada hujung tahun ini tetapi ada beberapa masalah teknikal.
“Saya melihat selewat-lewatnya Jun tahun depan jeti ke cruise akan mula beroperasi dan setakat hari ini. Saya lihat kedudukan pembinaan dan pembangunan jeti ini berada pada kadar 45 hingga 50 peratus siap,” katanya.

Say goodbye to traffic jams: West Coast Expressway to ease North-South Expressway congestion, elevate local growth, says transport minister
TANGKAK, Nov 2 — The West Coast Expressway (WCE) from Banting, Selangor, to Gelang Patah, Johor, will serve as an alternative route to alleviate the traffic congestion frequently faced by motorists on the North-South Expressway (NSE).
“When this new alignment is built, it will also act as a catalyst for new development in the adjacent coastal areas,” he told reporters after attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the Multi-Purpose Building at Pei Hwa Independent High School here today.
Also present were Johor Women, Family and Community Development Committee chairman Khairin-Nisa Ismail@Md On and the school principal Ang Chee Boon.
